BDD 2007 Patch 1

Sponsor

Microsoft has released a patch 1 for BDD 2007. This patch fixes a bunch of bugs. (I'm not sure if it fixed the XP partition bug that I mention in my earlier guides, I'll find out in the next few days as I test it out.)

Update 07/09/2007: After testing you still need to use the workaround found in Building a Windows XP Image in BDD 2007 Part 1

You can get the patch here:

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=937191

The link also provides additional information on what has been fixed.

I installed the new BDD with patch 1, but for some reason when i deploy from source every install, no matter if its on a laptop, desktop or virtual PC does the same thing.  I also setup the uberbug fix in the BDD Build.

It goes through the windows PE 2.0 screens in lite touch, switches to the windows xp install screen with the rotating text, reboots into text mode to copy files, then ( this is the problem part), it reboots again into text mode, acts like it is going to copy the files again, then fails with the message: "CAUTION: A \Windows folder already exists that may contain windows."  You are then given the options to delete the folder, install to another folder or quit.  Not one of those options works.

Just to make sure it wasnt NOT cleaning the partition, i did a directory after the partition runs in Windows PE 2.0, no windows folder is there.   I tried a volume CD, a Corporate CD and a dell reinstall CD as the source in the build in BDD.

From what i can tell it seems to repeat the copy files in textmode process which then results in the above error.

Have you had this problem?

One Note: I have a corpate disk with sp1 on it, that loads all the way through without an issue using the same process and without the uberbug fix.
