Adding a machine to a domain

Is it possible for a pc to be a member of 2 different domains at the same time, e.g a windows 2003 native domain and a seperate NT4 domain both linked with a trust?

Currently in the process of an upgrade of NT4 to Windows 2003 and building a seperate environment for Windows 2003.

No it's not possible that I know of, and I was just through a big migration just last year.  73 Child Domains to one Big Flat Domain.  As long as you have the trust between the two domains and DNS setup on each domain as secondary, you should be able to have access to both Domains.  The HARDEST part of our migration was the user profiles', because we went to a new user login name, so it created another profile for the user.

    KID,

Just as a matter of interest how did you address the profile issue during your migration?

We FORMATTED everything (I wished).Big Smile

No we created a script to just copy My Docs, Favorites and Desktop after the user logged in.  We didn't have to touch every machine because we used LANDesk to run the script for us.  The only thing i say is make sure you make a copy and not try and move the profile.  Because as most Admins know the end user doesn't understand that every little *** program they install that makes their desktop's look pretty can screw up a profile quickly.  Webshots sucks big turd.  If you don't have that in your enviroment then thank your lucky stars.  We also did a lot of preperation for the migration.  We had all of our techs at the school location adhear to a standard that we could run the script against.  Example: We had all the bookmarks get backedup to My Doc and all the PST files in there as well.  It took a lot of testing and tweaking, but we got through it.  We also made sure that each school knew when it was going to be migrated and made sure they notified their staff to backup anything that was that important.

If you need me to try and find the script i will look through my backups and dig it out.
