    Strange IE problem

Users cannot access any webpage without getting the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage error message". However when they click on refresh or press F5 they get straight onto it !!

This is a windows 2003 AD and Novell e-directory environment with Novell single sign on enabled, policies are configured in AD and Microsoft ISA sever is used for proxy.

DNS is fine and group policy looks ok.

I found i can fix this issue by removing the use a proxy server tick box on a local client pc and reapplying it again! (same proxy settings being applied) I know the fix but cannot figure out what is causing it!!!

Also don't want to implement this fix manually for hundreds of users!!

    Anyone experienced any similar problems?

I have some more info to add, it transpires that a colleague rebuilt the ISA server last week and it looks like the clients are remembering the old settings which are the same but may have a different SID???  when the users click refresh they get access to the webpage without any problem!

Do the clients store any info about the ISA in the registry?

OK managed to fix it! What i did was copy the existing group policy settings into new group policies and linked the new policies instead of the old ones!

Don't know why this worked but it did......the spooky world of IT huh? :-)
