Windows 2003 2 node cluster backup

    Hello,

Currently have a windows 2003 2 node cluster which uses IIS and SQL. Need to implement a backup strategy, a colleague just wants to backup the system state, quorum IIS and SQL data to tape with non cluster aware 3rd party backup software. She maintains that the cluster can be rebulit and restored to it's original state with this backed up data.

I don't think that this is the case, can someone with knowledge of clustering verify this and also advise on the best way to backup the cluster.

Any advice is very much appreciated.

I could be wrong, but I think she is right. The backup doesnt need to be cluster aware, the data will just be on the quorum disk.
