    Profile problem?

3 admins use RDP to connect to a particular windows 2003 server using the administrator logon account. The administrator user is the same one connecting from all pc's (not at the same time). All the pc's being used to run RDP are running XP pro SP 3. However 2 users can see an application running whilst connected to the server and one person can't!! although they can see that the service is running. This happens regardless if the users have a console session or not. Thinking it must be a profile problem or something locally on the 3rd pc but can't find any error messages to work from. Don't really want to resort to rebuilding the 3rd pc.

Anyone experienced anything similar or have any suggestions as to what to do to resolve this?

So if this one admin logs on from one of the other admins machines the results are the same ?

    Re: Profile problem?

Good question Killerbananas! The one admin logged on from one of the other machines and it worked a treat.

Further investigation has revealed that the difference is that the admin that is not working is running XP Pro SP3 on his pc the 2 other admins are running XP SP 2.

    The plot thickens!!! :-)

no problem, glad I could help in your guidance. Figures SP3 would be the culprit, though doesn't make much sense.

Think I will look into that one - probably some security policy update :)
