Rebuilding client machines in a domain

Need to rebuild all the XP client pc's in my windows 2003 Active directory domain with a new XP build. The hostnames of the clients will not change. Can i simply take the clients off the network and rebuild the clients without removing them from the domain or do i need to use Active Directory Users and Computers and remove the clients from the domain first? Vaguely remember something about SID history issues but don't know if this will apply in this scenario? Also use Sophos Enterprise Manager and WSUS.

    Any advice appreciated !

Ok apparently a client machine gets a different SID allocated when it joins a domain so this shouldn't be a problem. Problems may arise if workstations are members of a workgroup though.
